Schools Cultural Award with Gabi McGrath
1st Apr 2025
Over the past few weeks Ms Biesty’s 6th class and members of our Creative Committee have been working on a weaving project with professional artist Gabi McGrath.
Over the last few months various student groups had voiced the opinion that the school was lacking in colour and this led to the children working with Gabi on a project to brighten up the railings on the school grounds. Thanks to funding from the South Dublin Schools Cultural Award, Gabi was able to facilitate weekly workshops which culminated in the colourful hoops that are displayed on the Green railings along the school pathway.
Not only did the children learn new weaving skills during the project, they were also presented with opportunities to develop their skills of problem solving, resilience and working collaboratively. Well done to all involved!
